About ASPS
The Association of Scottish Police Superintendents (ASPS) is one of the three Police Staff Associations in Scotland, the others being the Scottish Police Federation and the Association of Chief Police Officers in Scotland.

The membership consists of all officers of superintendent rank throughout the eight forces in Scotland. There is a branch of ASPS representing each force, an elected executive, and a permanent secretariat with offices in Glasgow.
The Association can be seen to function on four different levels

In Force - on local issues and through Joint Negotiating and Consultative Committee.

Scotland wide - through the Police Advisory Board for Scotland, the Scottish Police College, Police Division and other departments and agencies of The Scottish Government, Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary, and other staff associations.

U.K. Level - through joint consultation with the Police Superintendents' Associations, the Police Negotiating Board and through representation on other national organisations.

Internationally - through membership of the International Association of Chiefs of Police at conferences World wide which has led to much closer association with similar organisations in other countries and opportunities to share experience and knowledge.
